Jarmo van Berkel

Jarmo van Berkel (1988) is a visual artist, DJ and host of a weekly radio show on Salto, Amsterdam's public radio station.

Jarmo's work blends the worlds of graffiti and fine art. Primarily using classic graffiti tools like spraypaint and markers. Jarmo curates a diverse portfolio showcasing murals, album covers, posters, logos, and various graphic designs. By referencing different elements from underground and pop culture, he aims to connect different layers of society.

In 2017 he graduated from Academie Minerva in Groningen, also earning international recognition by winning the annual art competition during his time at Ohio State University. Additionally, he also gained valuable experience through an internship with Amsterdam-based illustrator Stefan Glerum.

Born on the same date as the iconic Keith Haring, Jarmo draws inspiration from legendary artists such as Haring, Dali, Basquiat, and Van Gogh. However, his primary source of creativity stems from his immediate surroundings and the diverse array of individuals who populate his world.
